The idea of Rokaj Fest came as the initiative of certain individuals to expand and preserve urban and rock culture in Croatia, so that Croatia finally gets a festival written in the worlds most important music calendars as an inevitable destination.

As the first open air festival in Croatia, Rokaj Fest came as the real refreshment among cultural offers and Zagreb and Croatia finally got a festival worth of its name and prominence.

The main idea of Rokaj project is promoting the availability of rock music through rich program and low ticket price, which allows greater accessibility to wide audience and labels Rokaj Fest as the long-term project with clear vision and objectives.

Along promoting the more and more popular rock scene in Croatia by engaging leading performers, one of the festival?s missions is to promote young music forces. After 1^st Rokaj Fest, the youth program became the integral part of Rokaj tradition and festival´s program

From all of the above mentioned, it is clear that the main task of Rokaj Fest is to promote and preserve cultural values, especially in the field of rock and urban music.
